Discover “Arouca + Digital” – The First Digital Commercial Neighbourhood developed by Ubiwhere
Developed by Ubiwhere, the ’’Arouca + Digital’’ project brings to life a Digital Commercial Neighbourhood in the Municipality of Arouca, promoting the digital transition of local businesses by modernising their operational models and integrating technology into the daily activities of both traders and consumers. This innovative initiative aims to expand the reach of local businesses by connecting them to the digital world and its numerous benefits.
Digital Commercial Neighbourhoods represent an opportunity to revitalise urban centres and support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. In this context, Ubiwhere introduces an approach that combines technological innovation with local commerce, encouraging the creation of commercial hubs where the digital and physical coexist in harmony. Ubiwhere’s contribution includes the creation and development of a marketplace and the “Arouca + Digital” mobile application, both of which feature an intuitive design focused on user experience.
Through technology and digitalisation, “Arouca + Digital” will enhance the local economy of the Municipality of Arouca by fostering the adoption of modern business practices. The project is still ongoing, with the marketplace and app already launched. The portal is now available here.
“Arouca + Digital” was officially launched on the 25th of July in the Municipality of Arouca, encompassing 184 commercial establishments supported by a wide range of digital infrastructures and services available to participating businesses. The project aims to facilitate digital transition while simultaneously highlighting the benefits of physical proximity alongside the opportunities offered by the digital and virtual worlds.
