DOME: a research and development project by Ubiwhere focused on the distribution of cloud and edge services
DOME is a project that materialises the online marketplace by providing the means to access trusted services and by complementing the on-demand artificial intelligence platform in providing access to the necessary cloud services. As a consortium member of this project, Ubiwhere is part of the DOME Marketplace through its edge services.
DOME aims to support the digital transformation of businesses and public organisations, making a catalogue of cloud-to-edge offerings available in Europe. DOME aims to create a dynamic ecosystem that brings together all key players, including infrastructure, data, and platform providers, service integrators, certification agencies, and customers from all sectors. The objective is to enhance the European cloud industry by streamlining current practices and providing customers with a higher level of access and control. The project aims to create a single portal of access for trusted Cloud and Edge services stakeholders, from providers to consumers, with a strong focus on user-friendliness, inclusion, and equality principles.
This project ensures that every service provider in the marketplace is accredited & trustworthy by harnessing the strength of verifiable credentials by EU legislation, thereby establishing a robust European Digital Trust. Ubiwhere is going to integrate the DOME Marketplace, advertising our edge services to expand their visibility and availability to a broader range of stakeholders and potential users within the ecosystem.
A consortium made up of 39 European organisations from 14 countries, coordinated by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa in collaboration with the FIWARE Foundation as technical coordinator.
