From Strategy to Implementation: Ubiwhere contributed to the future of Smart Territories at the III International Conference on Public Policy and Data Science
On the 20th of May, Ubiwhere had the privilege of taking part in the 3rd International Conference on Public Policy and Data Science, organised by the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro, under the theme "Smart Territories", participating in an essential debate on the role of technological innovation in transforming cities and territories.
The event brought together researchers, policymakers, public and private entities and civil society representatives, promoting a space for interdisciplinary dialogue on strategies and concrete solutions for sustainable, inclusive and intelligent territorial development. Ubiwhere was represented by its co-CEO, Nuno Ribeiro, who took part as a speaker in the round table "From Strategy to Implementation: Perspectives and Practices on the Ground". This session discussed real experiences of implementing public policies and digital solutions for smart territories. Nuno Ribeiro’s intervention was centred on Ubiwhere’s practical experience in creating smart cities and territories by applying technology and data science in real urban contexts. Concrete cases were also shared, strategies adopted and key lessons learnt from ongoing projects centred on the operational challenges faced on the ground.
During the event, Ubiwhere also had the opportunity to present its Urban Management Platform. This digital solution allows cities to make more informed, efficient and sustainable decisions by integrating and visualising real-time data. In addition to this solution, which complies with the reference architecture of the National Smart Territories Strategy (ENTI), to support decision-making and facilitate communication with citizens, some of the research and development projects that reinforce Ubiwhere’s commitment to innovation and the co-creation of solutions for the urban challenges of the present and the future were presented: Route 25, ATT, BeOpen, Digital Nervous System Testbed and IN2CCAM.
Ubiwhere’s participation in this conference reinforces its role as a strategic partner in transforming territories, combining technical expertise, scientific research and active collaboration with public and private organisations.
