The Creative Intelligence Open Lab by Ubiwhere is now open: a new space dedicated to creativity at the University of Aveiro
The year 2025 ends with a significant achievement: yesterday, Ubiwhere and the University of Aveiro inaugurated the Creative Intelligence Open Lab by Ubiwhere, a new space for promoting education that is the result of a partnership between the two entities, whose mission is to stimulate the creativity of students at the University of Aveiro, enhance critical and multidisciplinary thinking, and support the implementation of innovative digital projects.
On the 18th of December, the Creative Intelligence Open Lab by Ubiwhere officially opened its doors, thanks to Ubiwhere and the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro. It is a space equipped with advanced technological infrastructure and designed to meet the demands of teaching and experimentation in areas such as design, communication, digital creativity, and technological innovation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Rector of the University of Aveiro, João Veloso, Vice-Rector of the University of Aveiro, Ana Isabel Veloso, Director of the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro, and Rui A. Costa and Nuno Ribeiro, co-CEOs of Ubiwhere.
The Creative Intelligence Open Lab by Ubiwhere, already up and running, seeks to provide new learning methodologies that are more student-centred and developed in an environment of experimentation and simulation, as well as to promote creativity and foster cooperation with society and the business community.
At the opening session, Ana Isabel Veloso, Director of DECA, mentioned that this space, in addition to furniture, was equipped with smartboards and screens that enable collaborative activities, interactive presentations and dynamic group work, promoting knowledge sharing and experimentation in an academic context.
For the founders of Ubiwhere, Rui A. Costa and Nuno Ribeiro, this inauguration marks another milestone in strengthening the link between academia and the business world and continues the company’s commitment to creating spaces that promote experimentation, creativity, and talent development. In this sense, this new space complements the Math Lab – Artificial Intelligence Open Lab, inaugurated in January this year, providing a privileged environment for students to create, test and develop innovative solutions with real impact, aligned with the challenges of digital transformation and innovation
