The municipalities of Leiria and Castelo Branco are recognised as examples of digital transformation at the service of the citizen

Ubiwhere is proud to work alongside the municipalities of Leiria and Castelo Branco to develop projects that have just been honoured by DECO with the ‘Consumer Friendly Municipality’ award in the Digital category. These recognitions reflect a shared vision between Ubiwhere, Digiwest and the municipalities: that technology and data should serve people, sustainability, and the quality of urban life.
The ‘Leiria Smart City’ project, which won the category, focuses on an Urban Management Platform which brings together a variety of mobility information, namely on urban public and collective passenger transport (Mobilis), the city’s car parks and the availability of spaces, biclis and electric vehicle charging, materialising into interactive digital tools available to citizens. All this information is just a click away via the public portal and the ‘mobis leiria’ mobile app.
In the situation of Castelo Branco, which received an honourable mention, Ubiwhere contributed to developing digital solutions integrated into the Transport Coordination Centre, directly impacting mobility. This measure responds to many residents’ needs, offering real-time information on transport services and more efficient space organisation through a management platform that aggregates timetable information for the various user communication channels. An intuitive mobile app was also developed for this project, making the system more accessible to all users.
On this road to urban modernisation, Ubiwhere’s Urban Management Platform has been the technological foundation that allows decision-makers to plan, monitor, and act on their territories in real-time, promoting more efficient, sustainable, and citizen-friendly governance.
