“The Time For Cities” is now: Ubiwhere’s participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 as an Industry Partner

Recognised as the world’s largest and most influential event for cities and urban innovation, the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 brought together 27,104 participants, 1,190 exhibitors and 592 speakers from 143 countries with a single mission: to create more sustainable and inclusive cities. Since its creation in 2011, the Smart City Expo World Congress has been an essential meeting point for cities and territories seeking to improve the quality of life of their citizens, bringing together business leaders, public decision-makers and global organisations committed to building smarter, more sustainable and inclusive cities. As an Industry Partner, Ubiwhere found this event to be the perfect setting to showcase its innovative solutions across mobility and tourism, highlighting the power of technology to transform territories, promote sustainability, and build a more digital and intelligent future.

During the three-day event, our team presented innovative solutions to sustainably and efficiently manage cities and territories. One of these solutions was the Urban Platform, which offers an integrated, detailed view of territory data aligned with national and international best practices. This solution enables the analysis of historical data and, with the support of Artificial Intelligence, allows for the prediction of trends and supports strategic planning.

Under the Route 25 project’s motto – Agenda for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable and Inclusive Mobility - Ubiwhere presented the products it developed as part of the initiative, including the CCAM Operations Centre, the Multi-modal Data-Aware Sensing Platform, the Smart Parking Solution, and Edge Offloading.

Our participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 was also enriched by the involvement of two members of our team in sessions of great importance. On the 4th of November, Ana Pereira, Head of R&I, participated in the session ‘City4Climate – Digital Twins for Climate Action’, in which the City4Climate project and Ubiwhere’s contribution to this initiative were presented. On the 5th of November, Sandra Barnabé, Innovation Manager, joined the panel of speakers at the session ‘Building the Future of Mobility: the Route 25 Case’, which shared the progress, challenges and technological results of the Route 25 project. On the same day, Ana Pereira was a speaker at the Solution Talk ‘Governance for Smarter Growth: Innovation and Digital Futures’, which brought together urban leaders to discuss the role of digitalisation and innovation in creating more sustainable and economically resilient cities. Finally, on the 6th of November, Sandra Barnabé took to the Stage Move Better stage for the Keynote ‘Deploying Autonomous Driving Technology in Our Cities’, where she presented Ubiwhere’s work in developing and implementing connected and automated mobility solutions, focusing on the concrete example of the work developed in Route 25.

Over the three days, there was also time to present projects such as NebulOuS, Edgeless, MLSysOps, the ATT Agenda, and the Digital Nervous System Testbed. Ubiwhere’s participation in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 was another milestone in our mission to transform the future of cities. Under the theme ‘The Time for Cities,’ we experienced days of sharing, innovation, and inspiration that reinforced our conviction: we are building the right path to smarter territories.
