Ubiwhere at the IN2CCAM Event Awareness: Technology and Innovation for the Mobility of the Future

Ubiwhere

On the 28th of January, Guimarães hosted the IN2CCAM Event Awareness, an event dedicated to connected, cooperative and automated mobility, bringing together experts and innovative companies in the sector. Ubiwhere was at the event, highlighting its technological solutions for smart mobility and reinforcing its commitment to the digitalisation and sustainability of cities. During the event, strategies for implementing more efficient, connected and secure mobility ecosystems were debated, with the collaboration of various industry and research partners.

‘Redesigning mobility’ was the theme of this international meeting attended by several European cities to measure and value mobility measures in city environments. Organised by the Quadrilátero Urbano, a consortium of four leading cities and two experimental territories, this initiative addressed connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM), which is essential for the future of passenger and freight transport in terms of safety and sustainability.

The event’s programme included presentations on the impact of CCAM technologies, emphasising the simulations carried out on Guimarães’ digital twin, a central tool in urban decision-making. One of the keynote speakers was José Mendes, who addressed questions about the past, present and future of mobility in cities. Carolina Viceto, Project Manager, and Sandra Barnabé, Innovation Manager, representing Ubiwhere, discussed practical cases and strategies for smart territories and presented projects related to urban mobility, such as Route 25.

Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) was introduced during the event as a technology capable of predicting traffic and analysing effective solutions to improve everyday traffic. IN2CCAM is a project funded by the European Union that aims to improve the integration of the CCAM concept. The primary objective of this project is to develop, implement and demonstrate innovative mobility services by promoting more efficient, safe and inclusive traffic management throughout Europe.
