Ubiwhere welcomed 70 entrepreneurs during Poliempreende 2025 week

Ubiwhere

On the 2nd of September, Poliempreende participants visited Ubiwhere and met our team, learning about our projects and solutions for creating and developing smart cities and territories. Poliempreende 2025 is an initiative coordinated by the University of Aveiro, with Ubiwhere as one of its partner entities.

Poliempreende is an initiative that aims to evaluate and reward projects developed and presented by students, graduates, or teachers from academic institutions through a competition of ideas and business plans. Between the 1st and the 5th of September, the University of Aveiro hosts the national phase of Poliempreende 2025, the main programme for stimulating entrepreneurship in polytechnic education in Portugal. Over five days, the finalist teams from 20 institutions will participate in an intensive programme of training, mentoring, networking and competition.

During Poliempreende week at the University of Aveiro, Ubiwhere is acting as one of the event’s partner organisations. On the 2nd of September, participants had the opportunity to visit Ubiwhere’s headquarters, where they met our team members, learned about our technological solutions, including the Urban Management Platform, and discovered our innovative research and development projects, such as Imagine-B5G. On the 3rd of September, the students participated in mentoring sessions organised in the Ubiwhere laboratories at the University of Aveiro. In this technological and collaborative environment, they had the opportunity to develop their ideas with the support of specialised mentors, benefiting from the conditions for innovation that characterise Ubiwhere. Seventy young students from various national academic institutions attended this initiative.

They visited Ubiwhere, coming from the University of Aveiro, the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Lisbon, Coimbra, Beja, Viana do Castelo, Portalegre, Cávado and Ave, Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Setúbal and Tomar, as well as the Coimbra School of Nursing, the University of the Algarve, the Estoril School of Hospitality and Tourism and the University of Madeira.

To reinforce its mission of developing skills related to entrepreneurship, the Poliempreende network received support from Ubiwhere. This collaboration aimed to boost the creation of new businesses and, simultaneously, give visibility to Ubiwhere as a leading company in smart cities and telecommunications.
