World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development: Ubiwhere’s Innovation for a Sustainable Future
World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development is celebrated annually on the 4th of March, as UNESCO proclaimed in 2019. This day aims to raise awareness of engineering’s essential role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainable development. Ubiwhere, a company that focuses its mission on creating technological solutions for connectivity and sustainability, could not fail to mark this special date and highlight its contribution to a sustainable future through the work of its engineering professionals.
According to the Portuguese Order of Engineers, ‘engineering plays a crucial role in modern life and is key to tackling global challenges and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. World Engineering Day highlights engineers’ achievements and promotes engineering’s importance in building a sustainable future.’
In Portugal, Ubiwhere stands out as an example of innovation in the engineering and smart cities sector. Founded in 2007, Ubiwhere has developed technological solutions that promote sustainability, focusing on smart cities, telecommunications and new technologies. One of Ubiwhere’s flagship products is the Urban Management Platform.
