SYMBIOTE

SymbIote is created on the scenario of a highly fragmented Internet of Things (IoT) system. IoT solutions usually integrate specific implementations and connect smart spaces using a back-end cloud hosting with exclusive software components. Thus, when accessing the new smart environments, people are forced to download numerous apps, since each one of these usually serves one purpose or environment. symbIoTe is a platform that adapts people’s presence to the smart environment they interact with, allowing them to use the same mobile app for various IoT platforms.

Ubiwhere provided a unified view on the various platforms and the respective resources, allowing designers and developers transparent and secure access to these resources. The solution also integrated the open interoperation of smart resources across several IoT platforms. It removed the barriers separating the IoT domains and potentiate an intuitive environment adapted to the needs of modern life.
