6G-TWIN

Future Internet and Next Generation Networks

ubiwhere

The 6G-TWIN will provide the foundation for designing, implementing, and validating an AI-native reference architecture for 6G systems that incorporates Network Digital Twins (NDT) as a core mechanism for end-to-end, real-time optimisation, management, and control of highly dynamic and complex network scenarios.?

The 6G-TWIN project aims to create new structures for the future 6G architecture and provide solutions beyond the 5G service-based architecture SBA capabilities. One of the project’s initial technological objectives is to offer native Artificial Intelligence management of heterogeneous radio access network (RAN) technologies, infrastructures, services, and use cases that prioritise sustainability and energy efficiency.

6G-TWIN will test, validate and facilitate the transferability of the solutions through the development of two demonstrators supporting highly dynamic use cases, with two key focus areas: teledriving and energy efficiency. It will also help standardise its operating system to ensure interoperability, platform openness, and harmonised operation of its future solutions, and provide the industry with insights into innovative business models based on 6G-TWIN solutions and visions.

According to the ideology of the project consortium, of which Ubiwhere is a member, future 6G architectures must enable a cyber-physical continuum between the real world and its digital representation. In terms of our contribution, Ubiwhere is leading the way in the development of zero-touch management. By adopting a digital twin architecture, this project will present an excellent method for bridging the performance and complexity gap in networks. It can also improve the user experience in real-time across various domains.

This project has received funding from 6G SNS and is co-funded by the European Union.
