The DOME Marketplace is a project that focuses on supporting Cloud & Edge services and aims to create ‘a marketplace of Cloud services for EU users in the public and private sectors’, as part of the European Commission’s endeavours to support Cloud adoption in Europe.
The DOME project marketplace will be developed within the framework of EU programmes such as the Digital Europe Programme, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe and is also based on the concepts of the Gaia-X project and open standards, thanks to which DOME seeks to boost the development and adoption of reliable Cloud and Edge services in Europe.
Cloud computing is a central element of Europe’s digital future, offering companies and public organisations the data processing technology they need to support their digital transformation. The DOME Marketplace will therefore address the challenge of fragmented product offerings in Europe by consolidating a wide range of EU-compatible cloud and edge services in a single marketplace. The marketplace enables the matching of service providers’ offerings to customer demand, ensuring verified and comparable quality of services and products, and facilitating straightforward and transparent management of transactions and services. The uniqueness of the marketplace lies in its ability to generate and utilise verifiable credentials that ensure the publication of trustworthy services, by EU regulations. This marketplace will also provide a standardised methodology for verifying that services and suppliers are certified and reliable.
Ubiwhere is part of the DOME Marketplace, promoting its cutting-edge services and expanding its visibility and availability to a broader audience of interested parties and potential users within the ecosystem.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme under the Grant Agreement No 101084071.
