HEXA-X-II

Future Internet and Next Generation Networks

ubiwhere

Hexa-X-II represents the full value chain for future connectivity solutions, and the consortium is led by Nokia. This project strives to overcome challenges related to sustainability, inclusion, and trustworthiness.

Hexa-X-II will design a system blueprint aimed at creating a sustainable, inclusive, and trustworthy 6G platform. Projects like Hexa-X-II, the second phase of the European 6G flagship initiative, hope to develop and present the European vision for the future of telecommunication networks, achieving a holistic 6G network that intends to provide an optimised digital transition. The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) 6G Flagship project Hexa-X-II leads the way to the end-to-end (E2E) system design (based on integrated and interacting technology enablers) and the enabling platform delivering novel services for the next generation (6G) of wireless networks.

The project will continue on the tracks of the Horizon Europe project Hexa-X, which has laid the foundation for the global communication network of the 2030s by developing the 6G vision and basic concepts, including candidate key technology enablers. The Hexa-X-II project aims to shape the future of 5G and introduce a comprehensive 6G network that will enable the technology and its services to evolve. With a global investment of over 20 million euros, the Hexa-X-II project promises to revolutionise the world of telecommunications, offering all companies involved an opportunity to position themselves strategically in the future.

Ubiwhere will contribute with its expertise in Life Cycle Assessment, Network orchestration, E2E architectures, and sustainability. Along with 43 other partners and under the coordination of Nokia, Ubiwhere is the only Portuguese company to be part of the Hexa-X-II project, where we aim to contribute to establishing the future architecture of 6G networks. For Ubiwhere, the opportunity lies in being part of the future from its inception, helping technology reach high maturity levels and enabling the world’s evolution through digitalisation and sustainable transformations of established services.

This project has received funding from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101095759.
